UCSHIP:
For physical or mental health related concerns, Student Health Services (SHS) and Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) are your first stop for care that’s covered by UC SHIP.
SHS and CAPS can provide both in person and remote care during normal business hours. After hours, additional physical and mental health services are available through:
- Live Health Online
- Anthem’s 24/7 NurseLine
- Crisis (Mental Health) Support: (209) 228-4266 option #1
Referrals are required from SHS or CAPS for all care off-campus with the following exceptions:
- Emergency care
- Urgent care
- Pediatric care
- Obstetrics care
- Gynecological care
- LiveHealth Online

If you don’t get a referral from SHS or CAPS and you receive care from a provider off-campus, you may be responsible for the cost of that care. Click here for more information about accessing care off campus.
